INFP as a Leader


Most of us never thought that an Introvert-Intuitive-Feeling-Perceiving person would make a leader (and I hope a good leader). This personality make up only about 1% of the human population and I am a woman which makes the percentage even smaller. 

The challenge of being a good leader for an INFP is huge but we are as INFPs keep trying to improve ourselves. Therefore, through this post, I try to remind my fellow INFPs about the strengths and weaknesses of the personality itself as a leader.

Well, INFPs, often referred to as "The Mediators," are known for creativity, empathy, and idealism. While INFPs might not be the most traditional or stereotypical leaders, INFPs possess unique qualities that can make them effective and inspirational leaders in the right context. Here are some characteristics of an INFP leader and tips on how INFPs can excel in a leadership role:

- Empathy and Emotional Intelligence: INFPs are highly attuned to the emotions and needs of others. This makes them excellent listeners and allows them to create a supportive and inclusive work environment. As a leader, INFPs can connect with their team members on a personal level, understanding their motivations and concerns.

- Visionary and Innovative: INFPs are often creative thinkers with a strong sense of imagination. INFPs can inspire their team with a compelling vision for the future and encourage innovative solutions to problems. Their ability to think outside the box can lead to fresh perspectives and unconventional approaches.

- Conflict Resolution: INFPs' natural inclination to avoid conflict can be beneficial in maintaining a harmonious work environment. INFPs are skilled at finding common ground and facilitating compromise among team members. This skill can be essential in diffusing tensions and fostering collaboration.
